So what is a HIP?
The Home Information Pack [also known as the Home Seller Pack] is now the only way to sell your home on the open market. Designed to make the buying process quicker, more transparent and less prone to those dropped offers; the HIP is a collection of legal documents assembled by the seller, detailing important property information for your buyer and buyer's solicitor.
As a minimum it MUST contain:
- An Index Sheet
- A Sale Summary
- An Energy Performance Certificate
- Local Authority Searches
- Water & Drainage Searches
Who now needs One?
As of Dec 14th 2007 anyone wanting to market their home must now commission a pack, and make available their Energy Assessment rating once it becomes available.
